Aiko Orr, age, 96 of Monon, Indiana died on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, Indiana.

She was born on Sunday, January 23, 1929, in Nagoya, Japan to Hiromichi and Matsue (Otake) Bando.

On Wednesday, April 17, 1968, in Tokyo, Japan she married the love of her life, Clarence F. Orr. He died on Friday, February 18, 2022.

Aiko and Clarence had lived in Monon, Indiana since 1972, coming from Tokyo, Japan.  She worked for the American Embassy in Japan following WWII as an interpreter.  Aiko treasured her family and friends, especially her church family.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monon, Indiana.  Aiko and Clarence loved to travel, and she enjoyed shopping when she was able.

Aiko is survived by, sister-in-law, Diana Orr of Buffalo, Indiana; brother-in-law, Wynemac Woodcock of Monticello, Indiana; two (2) nieces, Jennifer (husband Jason) Lingenfelter of Monticello, Indiana, and Rhonda Rose of Monticello, Indiana; one (1) Nephew, Jody (wife Katrina) Orr of Buffalo, Indiana; three (3) great nieces, Kelsey Lingenfelter, Emily Rose, and Sara Rose; two (2) great nephews, Tyler Orr, and Caleb Orr.

Aiko was preceded in death by her parents, Hiromichi and Matsue Bando, and husband, Clarence F. Orr.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. the First Baptist Church of Monon, Indiana (408 Arch Street, Monon, Indiana 47959).

A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Monon, Indiana, with Pastor Jeff Scheffee officiating.

A private family burial will take place in the Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, Indiana at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the First Baptist Church of Monon, Indiana.   Envelopes will be available at the church or can be mailed to First Baptist Church of Monon, 408 Arch St., Monon, Indiana 47959.
