Obituary

Charles Dean "Chuck" Burget, 68, of Monticello (Sitka), Indiana, died at 7:03 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at his residence with his loving family surrounding him with tears and joy.

Chuck was born on Wednesday, December 11, 1957, in Monticello, Indiana, to Donald M. and Dorothy J. (Westerhouse) Burget. They both preceded him in death.

On March 20, 1999, he rekindled with the love of his life and married his high school sweetheart Brenda (West) Roberts. She survives.

Chuck was born and raised in the Monticello area. He was a Twin Lakes High School graduated. Chuck was known for his restoration work as a body man, owning his own body shop for years. He was certified mechanic and could fix almost anything. Chuck had a love for racing and Harley Davidson Motorcycles, where he excelled and gained that competitive nature. He was known for being a little wild, little crazy, and being an adrenaline junking; he was fast and furious before it was even a thing. Most of all Chuck loved his family, he was a devoted husband, dad, and cherished grandpa.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Brenda Burget of Sitka, Indiana; children, Charles Burget Jr., Amanda Burget, Shawn (wife Cortnie) Roberts, Mark Roberts both of Monticello, Indiana, James (wife Tammy) Roberts of Illinois, and Eddie (wife Jenny) Roberts of Monticello, Indiana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Connie (husband Abe) Baullosa of Monticello, Indiana, and Ryan L. (Jim) Burget of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kathy (husband Don) Stimley of Lewistown, Pennsylvania; aunts, Janet (husband Carlos) Hodge and Nancy Burget; sister and brothers-in-law, Beatrice (husband Kerry) Ward, Ronnie West, and Kenny West all of Monticello, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Chuck is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Iva Mae (Kellogg) Westerhouse; paternal grandparents, Everett B. & Evelyn (Lungrun) Burget; step-grandmother, Violet Bruget; parents, Don and Dorothy Burget; sisters, Gwen Burget and Barb Pine; great-grandson, Drew Roberts, Jr.; stepson, Mitch Roberts; mother and father-in-law, Dollie and Kermit West; uncle, Wayne Burget.

A celebration of life and gathering of family and friends to will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana. Casual attire or Harley Davidson shirts are requested.

A private family burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery or rural Monticello, Indiana.
