Charles R. Garing, 86, of Monticello, Indiana, died at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the White Oaks Assisted Living Center in Monticello, Indiana.

Charles was born on Saturday, October 1, 1938, in Attica, Indiana to Raymond P. and Priscilla R. (Bolduc) Garing. They both preceded him in death.

On November 4, 1961, in the Sacred Heart Church of Fowler, Indiana, he married Barbara Yarno. She survives.

Charles was a 1957 graduate of the Fowler High School of Fowler, Indiana.  He then went on to work for Norfolk Railroad for 13 years. Charles spent most of his life farming in Benton County.

Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Garing of Monticello, Indiana; children, Sue (husband Norm) Hudson Ninow,  Karen (Dennis Rice) Garing, Kim (husband Ross) Hardebeck, Rodney (wife Erica) Garing and Randy (wife Sara) Garing; grandchildren, Mallory North, Brock Hardebeck, Kyra Roberts, Dane Hardebeck, Connor Hudson, Corbin Hudson, Jacob Garing, Ella Garing, Gage Garing, Hudson Garing, and Harper Garing; great-grandchildren, Braelynn Wolfe, Drew Molter, Cassidy North, Beck Roberts, Jett Roberts, Cal Hardebeck; brother, Bob Garing; sister-in-law, Carolyn Ripberger; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Austin Wolfe; brother, Rich Garing, sister, Priscilla Danner.

No public visitation or services are being held at this time.

A private burial and service will be conducted.
