(Stidham) Claycomb - Young

Cheryl (Stidham) Claycomb -Young, 84, of Monticello, Indiana died peacefully with her family by her side, at 7:35 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, one day before her 85th birthday at the White Oaks Health Campus of Monticello, Indiana.
Cheryl was born on Wednesday, October 16, 1940, in Spartanburg, Indiana to T. Ford and Vivian Ann (Mikesell) Stidham. They both preceded her in death.
In 1959 she married Kenneth E. Claycomb, he passed away on Friday, January 29, 1971. She later married Henry Young he passed away February 13, 2007.
Cheryl was the singer Daniel O'Donnell's number one fan, attending 20 concerts and died listening to his music. She was known as the family caregiver over the years, tending to both parents, her mothers-in-law, aunt Bertine, and anyone who needed care in their later years. Cheryl was an avid dog lover, especially her English Sheep Dogs and her Pugs. She surrounded herself with beauty, bring it wherever she would go. Cheryl especially loved the holidays. She also truly enjoyed Purdue Women's basketball and attended many games over the years with her sister Melba.
Cheryl is survived by her sister, Melba Fleck of Monticello, Indiana; niece, Sheryl (husband Mark) Stidham-Gebert of Appleton, Wisconsin; great nephew, Nathan Gebert; great nieces, Katrina Gebert and Sofia Gebert all of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, son, Kevin Claycomb; husbands, Kenneth E. Claycomb and Henry Young; brothers, Duane and Mark Stidham; nephew, Marc Stidham.
Per Cheryl's wishes no public visitation or services are scheduled. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Burial will be at a later date in the Claycomb Cemetery located in Jay County, Indiana Green Township.
Memorial contributions may be given to Union Township Public Library or to Happy Tail Animal Rescue. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to the funeral home C/O Cheryl Young.
