Obituary

Choosri Sixbey, 87, of Monticello, Indiana died peacefully at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in The Springs of Lafayette, Indiana.

She was born the 4th child to a family of eleven, on Saturday, October 16, 1937, in Thailand to Prasart and Pranee Cheamcharoen. They preceded her in death.

In 1972 in Chicago, Illinois, she married Richard "Dick" Sixbey.  He died in 1996.

The first 28 years of Choosri's life was spent in Thailand, where she started her career as a labor and delivery nurse. In 1965, she bravely came to the United States by herself, where she continued nursing and sought an education in business. Choosri met her husband, Richard Sixbey, whom she married in 1972. They grew a beautiful life together in Monticello, IN, sharing many business ventures with Sixbey Inc. Choosri was an intelligent driven woman and a lifelong learner with many professional endeavors; amongst them being baker, caterer, and fitness instructor. She took such pride in her baking company, Forever Sweet. She was a kind and generous person, volunteering her skills regularly to her community in Monticello. She loved and supported both her family in Thailand and the family she built in America. A devoted sister, wife, stepmom, and aunt, Choosri will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her....

Choosri is survived by a sister, Boonnum Chaiterapunkul of Bangkok, Thailand, loving aunt of nieces, Air, Sandy, Jan; dear stepmother, of Teresia, Tina, and Steve; cherished aunt to several other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Choosri is preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepson, Stanley Sixbey, several siblings, and loving family members.
