Darrell L. Beckner, 57, of Monticello, Indiana, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 4:13 p.m., in the Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana, with his family by his side.
Darrell was born on Saturday, June 25, 1966 in Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana to James and Lova (Baxter) Beckner. They both preceded him in death.
On Saturday, July 20, 2002, in Monticello, Indiana he married Rebecca Behnke. She survives.
Darrell was born and raised in Monon, Indiana, and was a 1986 graduate of the Twin Lakes High School of Monticello. He had worked in the Monticello area his whole life, working for Condo's and lastly was at Adkev. Darrell was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working on small engines. He did mower repair when he was able and loved his horses, especially Jazzey. He was a member of the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church of Monticello. Darrell truly loved and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Rebecca Beckner of Monticello, Indiana, daughters, Sarah Burnes of Donovan, Illinois, Amanda (husband Dale) Holeman of Monticello, Indiana, son, Daniel (wife Janelle) McKinney of Monticello, Indiana, grandchildren, Keith and Owen Burnes, Peyton Spangle, Jack Daniels, Austin Carrico, Connor McKinney, and Makayla McKinney, sister, Alice (Robert "Bob") Livesay of Monon, Indiana, brothers-in-law, Gary (wife Barb) Behnke, and Richard "Dean" Behnke, niece, Christina Carter, nephew, Caleb (wife Faith) Livesay, great nephews, Jayven Maxson, Carl Carter, and Jacob Carter, and special friends, Chad & Stephanie Hostetler, and Arlene Darnsteadt.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents James and Lova Beckner, and nephew-in-law, Winston Carter.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church (1010 Washington St., Monticello, Indiana 47960).
A Celebration of life service will immediately follow on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church with Pastors Darl Clemons, Ross Osborn, and Fred Criminger officiating.
A private family burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Courage Rock (attn: Kim Markham) Envelopes will be available at the church and can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Beckner Family.
