Darwin Lee Miller, 65, of Wolcott, Indiana, passed peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 7:37 a.m. in the Indiana University Hospital White Memorial, with his loving family by his side.

Darwin was born on Tuesday, February 16, 1960, in the old Home Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana to Vernon and Joyce (Anker) Miller.  They both preceded him in death.

Darwin was born and raised in Wolcott, Indiana, and spent his entire life living and supporting his community.  He was a 1979 graduate of Tri County High School.  In the early years he owned and operated his own pin striping business.  He will be remembered by his fiddle and keyboard playing in the Darryl Miller and the Pace Changers band.  Darwin had drove semi most of his life, until retirement in 2024.  He had a huge passion for the restoration and rebuilding of his beloved community of Wolcott.  Darwin had a big heart and adored his family especially his daughter and grandchildren.

Darwin is survived by his daughter, Brittany (Dylan) Miller of Wolcott, Indiana; grandchildren, Chloe, Haley, Xadrien, and Xylan; siblings, Luann (husband Phillip) Johnson of Wolcott, Indiana;  Denny (wife Lana) Miller of Remington, Indiana, Darryl (wife Patty) Miller of Monticello, Indiana, Deon (wife Sherri) Miller of Wolcott, Indiana, Dwain Miller of Wolcott, Indiana, and Doran Miller of Wolcott, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Darwin was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Joyce (Anker) Miller; sister-in-law, Paula Miller; niece Ashley (Miller) Summers; favorite dog, Marley Miller.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Wolcott Methodist Church of Wolcott, Indiana 300 S. Range St., Wolcott, IN 47995.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Wolcott Methodist Church of Wolcott, 300 S. Range St., Wolcott, IN 47995 with Pastor Mark Harmon officiating.

Burial will follow in the Wolcott Cemetery of rural Wolcott, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be given to Wolcott Main Street.  Envelopes will be available at the church or can be mailed P.O. Box 3, Wolcott, Indiana 47995.
