David L. Hunt, 60 of Idaville, Indiana, died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 6:43 a.m. at his residence.

David was born on Friday, April 24, 1964, in Monticello, Indiana, to Bettie Lou (Kyburz) and Jim E. Hunt. She died on Saturday, October 29, 2022, Jim survives.

On Saturday, September 4, 1993, in the Idaville Church of God of Idaville, Indiana, he married A. Flo (Moore). She survives.

David was a 1982 graduate of the Twin Lakes High School of Monticello, Indiana.  He was employed with Purdue University for the past 26 years, as Operations Maintenance/Painter. David loved tractor pulls, Ford, John Deere, and refurbishing toy tractors.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved mushroom hunting, arrowhead hunting, and gardening.  David had two dogs Rex and Max who was his world.  He was a huge IU Basketball fan.

David is survived by his wife, Flo Hunt of Idaville, Indiana, father, Jim E. Hunt of Idaville, Indiana; sisters, Debbie (husband David) McClaine of Monticello and Donna (husband Russ) DeArmond of Remington; step sons, Eric Belford of Kokomo, Indiana and Nathan (wife Jamie) Belford of Harrisburgh, Illinois; grandchildren, Ariana (Mikey Bol), Parker, Melanie, Leelynn, Ylhevaeh, and Eric Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Danny (wife Frances) Moore of Sorento, Florida, Debbie Strickland of Peoria, Illinois, Burtis Moore of Shawneetown, Illinois, Nell (husband Jerry) Rosser of Shawneetown, Illinois, and David (wife Twyla) Moore of McLeansboro, Illinois; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Bettie Lou (Kyburz) Hunt, maternal and paternal grandparents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana, with Dr. Pastor Jim Elliott of the Sitka Baptist Church of rural Monticello, Indiana officiating.

Private family burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to Idaville Fire Department and or the Sitka Baptist Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd. Monticello, IN 47960 C/O Hunt family.
