Debra Jean Duncan, 74, of Monticello, Indiana, passed peacefully at 3:46 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, with her family by her side.
Debra was born on Monday, January 1, 1951, in Monon, White County, Indiana, to Mervin "Barney" Barnhart and Florence (Johnson) Barnhart. They preceded her in death.
Debra settled in Monon, Indiana and spent most of her young life working on family farm. She spent fifteen years working at Bassett Rotary Tool and then moved to Dwyer Instruments in Wolcott, Indiana for another fifteen plus years. Debra was an avid speed reader, reading full books in a single day. She was the glue of the family supporting everyone, encouraging all her family members, and especially loved spending time with her family. Debra was the one to tell you how it was.
Debra is survived by her sons, Justin Duncan of Lafayette, Indiana and Chad (wife Stacy) Duncan of Buffalo, Indiana; daughters, Cassie Spear of Monticello, Indiana, and Carrie Kiser of West Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren Levi Ducan, Kinley Duncan, Lorelei Duncan, Celtic Spear, and Klutch Gibbs, loving companion of 32 years, Robert Spear, II of Monticello, Indiana; sisters, Kathryn (husband Rick) Young of Monon, Indiana, Rebecca Madlung of Monticello, Indiana, and Beverly Lowe of Renssenlaer, Indiana; sister-in-law, Patty Barnhart; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, husband Terry Duncan; brothers, Lloyd, Denny "Moose", Eugene "Butch", Virgil Barnhart.
Per Debra's wishes no services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be given to Bank of Wolcott, C/O "Debra Duncan Memorial" for Buffalo Community Park Benches, Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to the Bank of Wolcott.
