Elizabeth Jane "Midge" Mattix, 91, of Buffalo, Indiana, passed peacefully at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare, Augusta Cottage.

Midge was born on Saturday, January 20, 1934, in Buffalo, Indiana, to William Zeek and Minnie (Boze) Zeek. They both preceded her in death.

Midge was born and raised in Buffalo, Indiana.  After school she worked for numerous years for the RCA Plant in Monticello, Indiana. Midge later retired from Omni Forge of Remington, Indiana.  She was a member of the Buffalo Christian Church and held many positions throughout the years. Midge enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and spending time with her family. She especially loved and was known for never missing one of Ty or Trey's ball games.

Midge is survived by her sons, Kerry Hughes of Monticello, Indiana, and Shannon Mattix of Buffalo, Indiana; grandchildren, Ty Mattix and Trey Mattix both of Buffalo, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Midge is preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie (Boze) Zeek, ex-husband/friend, John Joseph "Johnny" Mattix; sisters, Erma Gene Day, Zelma Ross, Alice Jean Merriman, Jennie Zeek, Vivian Frushour, Edith (Peters) Nicoll, Marian Benson, and Mary Lou Ezra; brothers, Orvill "Bud" Zeek, and Jack Zeek.

No public visitation or services are scheduled at this time, private family services followed by burial in the Buffalo Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Buffalo Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to P.O. Box 183, Buffalo, IN 47925, in memory of Midge Mattix.
