"Jim" Wilson, Jr.
January 24, 1933 – March 11, 2026
Elmer James "Jim" Wilson, Jr., 93, of Monticello, Indiana, gained eternal life at 10:37 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the White Oak Health Campus Assisted Living of Monticello, Indiana with his loving and gracious family by his side.
Jim was born on Tuesday, January 24, 1933, in Loda, Illinois, to Elmer Wilson, Sr. and Frances (Metheny) Wilson. They both preceded him in death.
On November 23, 1955, in St. Lawerence Catholic Church in Lafayette, Indiana, he married the love of his life Marjorie A. Behler. She survives.
Jim was a graduate of the Lafayette Jefferson High School of Lafayette, Indiana. He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict being Honorably discharged in 1955. Jim had lived and worked in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 14 years, moving back to Lafayette, and then to the Monticello area where he enjoyed his lake life. Jim was an Operating Engineer local 103, (Crane Operator) for over 38 years, working for Russell Davis Fauber Construction and later Owning and Operating J&J Crane Rental. Jim was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. He was a member of Monticello Amvets Post 91, the Amvets Riders Association, the U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Riders in Florida, and the American Legion Post 81 of Monticello, Indiana. Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycles, him and Marjorie had ridden in every state in the continental United States and Nova Scotia, Canada. They had wintered in Tavares, Florida for 22 years. Jim also loved flying R/C model Airplanes for several years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Marjorie A. Wilson of Monticello, Indiana, daughter, Ricki (husband Mike) Westfall of Dover, Tennessee, son, Jay (wife Dot) Wilson of Monticello, Indiana, grandchildren, Jennifer (husband Bryan) Anderson of Clarksville, Tennessee, Eric (wife Kym) Franklin of Lafayette, Indiana, Jayme (husband Bryant) Whitaker of Brookston, Indiana, and Andrew (wife Tiffany) Wilson of Independence, Kentucky, ten (10) great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bryce, Wrigley, Parker, Mia, Weston, Cooper, Noah, Carson, and Zoey, brother, Terry (wife Tara) Wilson of Delphi, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jerry Mallory.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church 543 S. Main St, Monticello, Indiana.
A Rosary service will begin at 10:45 a.m. just prior the visitation at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church of Monticello, Indiana.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church of Monticello, Indiana with Father Daniel Duff officiating.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery of Monticello, Indiana with full military rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church 543 S. Main St., Monticello, Indiana 47960 or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the church or mailed to the organization desired.
