Ed Hickey, 80, of Monticello, Indiana formerly of Hampton, New Hamshire, died at 5:24 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in his residence in rural Monticello, Indiana.
Ed was born on Thursday, June 28, 1945, in Everett, Massachusetts to Eugene and Marion (Skelton) Hickey. They both preceded him in death.
On Saturday, May 12, 1960, he married Joanna Costa in Boston, Massachusetts. She survives.
Ed was a lifelong truck driver, the miles under his belt would go to the moon and back. He was a huge sports fan always supporting his east coast teams, especially the Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins, and most of all the New England Patriots. Ed was huge fan of horse racing and owned his own racehorse for several years. He could always be found hanging out the stables at the track. Ed enjoyed his family, for any get together they could, throwing horseshoes, watching cornhole, and was mostly known for his cooking.
Ed is survived by his wife, Joanna Hickey of Monticello, Indiana, children, Di (husband Mike) Puntillo of Monticello, Indiana, AnnMarie (husband David) Kilty of Stoneham, Massachusetts, Eddie (wife Suzane) Hickey of Tewskbury, Massachusetts, and Sara (husband Scott) Hill of North Hampton, New Hamshire, grandchildren, Aja (husband Paul) Curtis, Jamie Powers, Ashley (fiancé Jordan) Powers, Robert Kilty, Jack Kilty, Sean Kilty, Jessica Hickey, Zack Maderios, and Hunter Hill, great-grandchildren, Junior, Pj, Javi, Amiah, McKenzie, and Gianna, sister, Cheryl (husband Tony) White, brother, Kevin (spouse Peter) Gould, aunt, Dorothy Eldeen, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Eugene is preceded in death by father, Eugene Hickey, mother, Marion & Payson Gould.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Burial will be private for the family.
Memorial contributions can be given to wishes of the donor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
