Obituary

Gregory A. Hummer, 64, of Logansport, Indiana, died on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 12:48 p.m. after a hard fight of cancer, at the IU White Memorial Hospital of Monticello, Indiana surrounded by his wife, mother, and daughter.

Greg was born on April 13, 1961, in Lafayette, Indiana to Aaron H. Hummer, II. and Rosalie (Hummer) Morgan.

On June 8th, 2019, in Tippecanoe County, Indiana he married the love of his life Virginia "Ginny" Richardson, who worked construction five years right beside each other until he became too ill to work.

Greg and his friend Kenny Rector were lifelong friends, they enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, as well as golfing together.  Greg worked on farms as a teenager.  Drove racecars at Henry Speedway at Boswell, Indiana in his early twenties.  He spent most of his life working construction, spending several years driving truck, but returning to his love of construction in the final years.  Greg was a past member of the American Legion Post 75 of Delphi, Indiana. Greg in his off time would be found doing wood working and loved building bird houses.

Greg is survived by wife, Ginny Hummer of Logansport, Indiana; daughter, Amanda Shoup of Delphi, Indiana; sons, Chad Smith of Delphi, Indiana, and Gregory Linderer; stepchildren, Austin Mullins of South Bend, Indiana, Aron (husband Bradley) Gibbs of Dayton, Indiana, and Kyle Plunkett of Lafayette, Indiana; (12) twelve grandchildren; siblings, Aaron Hummer, III of Lafayette, Indiana, Michael (wife Dawn) Hummer of Lafayette, Indiana, Lisa Hummer-Townsley of Bloomington, Indiana, and Brant Rose of Lafayette, Indiana; mother-in-law, Sharon (husband Clyde) Duncan; father-in-law, Virgil (wife Tina) Richardson; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Greg preceded in death by his father, Aaron H. Hummer, II.; grandsons, Noah Vaughn-Linderer, and Alexander Milburg.

Per Greg's wishes no visitation or services are scheduled at this time.

Memorial contributions may be given to the wishes of the donor in Greg's Memory.
