Obituary

Harry "Glen" Haskell, 97, of Westfield (formerly Monticello), Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:10 a.m., on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Sanders Glen Assisted Living in Westfield, Indiana.

Glen was born on Wednesday, December 15, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois to Louis William "Harry" Haskell and Josephine C. "Birdie" (Schmidt) Haskell. They both preceded him in death.

On Saturday, March 4, 1967, at the former Eastlawn United Methodist Church in Idaville, Indiana, he married Jill D. Kistler. She died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Monticello, Indiana.

Glen was born in Chicago, Illinois, moving to the farm in Idaville, Indiana in 1930.  Glen was a 1944 graduate of the Idaville High School and dairy farmed his entire life. Glen was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Libanus Masonic Lodge #154 F. & A.M., Order of Eastern Star Crystal Chapter #165, all of Monticello, Indiana. He was on the board for Weekly Religious Education, White County 4H Fair Board, Lincoln Township Advisory Board, member of the Indiana Dairy Association, and the Indiana Massey Harris Collectors Association. Glen was an avid sports fan, White Sox baseball, Purdue football and basketball, and horse racing. He was known for his love of church league dart ball.

Glen was survived by his daughters, Beth (husband Ashley) Maynard of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Jennifer (husband James) McNeany of Westfield, Indiana, children, Vicki (husband Alan) Sickler of Idaville, Indiana, Tony (wife Kathy) Logan of Monticello, Indiana, Kim Carpenter of Irmo, South Carolina, twenty-eight (28) grandchildren; twenty-one (21) great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Margaret Haskell of Idaville, Indiana, brother and sister- in-laws, Jack (wife Patsy) Kistler of Logansport, Indiana, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Louis William "Harry" and Josephine C. "Birdie" (Schmidt) Haskell, children, Pam Ashton, Kenta Adkins, Steve Logan, Chris Logan, grandchildren, Leslie Ashton, Erica Batta, and Melissa Sickler, sons-in-law, Mike Ashton and Jim Carpenter, sister, Charlotte Hannah (Haskell) Clark, and brother, William John Haskell.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.  on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana, with Pastor Candice Hinkle of New Hope Lutheran Church of Reynolds, Indiana officiating.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery of Monticello, Indiana.

Memorials may be given to White County 4H Dairy Barn. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Haskell Family.
