James David Ward, 67, of Monticello, (Buffalo area), Indiana, died after a long struggle with cancer at 9:17 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at his residence.

James was born on Friday, February 27, 1959, in to Robert Eugene and Verla Jean (Hettinger) Ward. They both preceded him in death.

On July 23, 1983, he married Kathy Lee Keeton they later divorced and she passed away in August of 1989. He then started dating Clara Elizabeth Boardman and later had a relationship with Tina Mae Anderson.

James was born and raised in the White County area. He spent most of his life working at the sawmill.  James enjoyed the great outdoors and always could be found hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his dogs and helping people when he could. 

James is survived by his children, Elizabeth Ina Ward of Lafayette, Indiana, Jessica Frances Ann Ward of South Bend, Indiana, Dustin James Ray Boardman of Decorah, Iowa, and Brian Scott Anderson; siblings, Michael "Mike" Ward of Monticello, (Buffalo area), Indiana, Mary Kay (husband Timothy "Tim") Jarvis of Monticello, Indiana, Kevin (wife Carol) Ward of Monticello, Indiana and Kerry (wife Beatrice) Ward of Monticello, Indiana.

James was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Loella Ward, and Lynn A. Ward.

Per Jame's wishes no public visitation or services will be held.

Private individual services can be conducted to celebrate with memories of the years past what James' referred to as the "Good Old Days".

Memorial donations may be given to Wishes of the donor, envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to charity of your choice C/O James Ward.
