Janet S. Snedeker, 85, of Delphi, Indiana (formerly of Flora), departed this life at 9:40 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2026, in the St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Delphi, Indiana.

Janet was born on Sunday, August 24, 1941, in Monon, Indiana, to Francis Cecil. and Wilda Evelyn (Toumine) Sanders. They both preceded her in death.

On Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Flora, Indiana she had a Friendship Ceremony with Ronald D. Rice. He survives.

Janet was born and raised in Monon, Indiana. She had worked at the Monticello McDonalds, White County Community Foundation, and the Old CDC Resources for several years, retiring in 2006. Janet attended the Monticello Christian Church and loved going to Aktion Club through Kiwanis. She bowled with them as often as she could. Janet also was very active in the White County Special Olympics for many many years. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, and favorite past time was watching old westerns and I Love Lucy. Everyone who knew Janet loved Janet and always had a smile on her face.

Janet is survived by her granddaughter, Christina Carter of Monticello, Indiana; grandson, James Beckner, Jr. of Gary, Indiana; great-granddaughter, Moriah Beckner; great-grandson Jayven (fiancée Diamond Titus) Maxson of Peru, Indiana; step great-grandsons, Carl and Jacob Carter of Lafayette, Indiana; sister, Rita Lucas of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, Douglas E. Sanders of Rensselaer, Indiana and Joe F. Sanders of Homosassa, Florida; special friend, Ronald Rice of Flora, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her patents; daughter, Nancy Beckner; brothers, Samuel W., and John C. Sanders.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2026, at Deibels Funeral Home, of Monticello, Indiana.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2026, at Deibels Funeral Home, of Monticello, Indiana. Pastor TBD officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bedford Cemetery of rural Monticello, Indiana.
