Joani Marie Fritz, 65, of Wolcott, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 8:32 p.m. at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Joani was born on Sunday, April 24, 1960, in Charleston, West Virginia to Anna Moore and Denny Jo Hartwell.  They both preceded her in death.

Joani was graduate of Open Door Baptist, in Rensselaer, Indiana.  She was dearly loved by her family including every niece, nephew, cousin and sibling.  Joani loved gospel music and had an extremely deep passion for her Lord.

Joani is survived by her son Jeremiah Hartwell of Wolcott, Indiana, siblings, Judith Hartwell, Charlie Hartwell, Brenda (husband Dave) Robling, Rose Hartwell, Paul (wife Denise) Hartwell, Jane Myers, and Roger Hartwell, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Joani was preceded in death by, parents, Anna (Moore) and Denny Jo Hartwell, siblings, Ruth Van Liew, Dan Hartwell, Debrah Long, and Walter Hartwell.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Wolcott Christian Church of Wolcott, Indiana.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Wolcott Christian Church with Pastor Bryce Cook officiating.
