John M. Lingenfelter, 68, of Monticello, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side.
John was born on Monday, March 19, 1956, in Logansport, Indiana to Aldie Lingenfelter, II. and Anah F. (Bell) Lingenfelter. They both preceded him in death.
On November 15, 1997, in Yeoman, Indiana, he married Lucy (Woosley) Russell. She survives.
John was raised in Monticello, Indiana and was a 1974 graduate of the Twin Lakes High School. He attended Ivy Tech for Boat Mechanics. John worked 50 plus years in the industry spending time at Tall Timbers and Pearsons Marnia. He retired in 2021 from Tall Timbers Marnia. John didn't know a stranger and would talk to anyone and everyone. He loved his Harley Davidson and his German Shepherds. John especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his daughters, Laura Kendall of Monticello, Indiana, and Amy (husband JT) Winthrop of Long Beach, California, step children, Jeremy (wife Kelly) Russell of Logansport, Indiana, Tyler (wife Audrey) Russell of Fishers, Indiana, and Miranda (husband Brandon) Russell of Oldsmar, Florida, 12 grandchildren, Levi, Dakota, Colton, Jack, Evie, Shane, Michael, Gregory, Skyler, Baustin, Rowen, and Hayes, sister, Karen (husband Jim) Goodnough of Granger, Indiana, brothers, Jim Lingenfelter of Monticello, Indiana, and Joe (wife Jan) Lingenfelter of Carmel, Indiana, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends., his dog Rio.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Aldie and Anah (Bell) Lingenfelter, II., brother, Aldie Lingenfelter, III., sister-in-law, Luanne "Lu" Lingenfelter.
No visitation is scheduled at this time.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in John's honor may be given to Happy Tails Animal Shelter. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Lingenfelter family.
