Jolean E. Buzun, 70 of Lafayette, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 2:35 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at her residence in Lafayette, Indiana with her daughter by her side.
Jolean was born on Monday, February 1, 1954, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana to Maxine L. (Houser) Lovvorn and Travis Otis Lovvorn.
On Friday, March 21, 1997, in LaPorte, Indiana, she married Wieslaw Buzun, he preceded her in death on Monday, May 29, 2023.
Jolean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and reat grandmother. She was a 1972 graduate of Twin Lakes High School. Jolean loved traveling, playing Bingo and dancing. She ebodied the best of qualities of unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. Jolean was an exemplary mother figure and human being.
Jolean is survived by her mother, Maxine L. Lovvorn of Delphi, Indiana; daughter, Kristina Surprenant of Illinois; brothers Travis E. (wife Barbara) Lovvorn of Brookston, Indiana and Owen (wife Cheryl) Lovvorn of Monticello, Indiana; grandchildren, Amber (husband Ed) Handler and Megan Evans; 7 great-grandchildren; aunts and uncles, Roberta Robertson, Shelby Reynolds, Bonnie Tevis, Joy Haas, Gloria Sproles, Lois (husband Bob) Duffy, Gail (husband Jay) Anderson, Nancy Houser, Linda Houser, and Robert "Bob" (wife Cheryl) Houser, Gene Lawson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wieslaw "Wesley" Buzun; father, Travis O. Lovvorn; sons, Bobbie Brown Jr. and Michael Brown; granddaughter, Jessica Evans; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00p.m. (noon) until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home, 601 Gordon Road, Monticello, Indiana.
A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Pastor Brad Stroetz of Lifesong Church of Monticello officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville, Indiana.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
