Kenneth Larry "Kenny / Ken" Felker, 79 of Monticello, Indiana, died at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Kenny was born on December 27, 1944, in Jasper County to Kenneth Everest and Olive "Alberta" (Reynolds) Felker. They both preceded him in death.
Kenny was raised in Norway, Indiana. He was drafted out of high school from Monticello, Indiana and served in the United States Army. Serving his country for over 33 years with active and reserve status retiring as a Sgt E5 with Indiana National Guard. He was a purple heart recipient during the Vietnam War. He then returned to White County and retired from Nipsco. Kenny was a life member of the VFW Post #2231, AmVets Post #91, and American Legion Post #81 of Monticello, Indiana. He had been a member of the Monday Night Mens League, Friday Mens League, and multiple mix leagues throughout his life. Kenny was in the Little League World Series when he was younger and loved to go fishing, camping, boating, and especially loved the outdoors. He was an avid motorcycle rider and attended Daytona Bike Week and Sturgis for several years. Kenny was a jack of all trades and tinkered around the house and garage. He was known by his family as the penny pincher. Kenny had never met a stranger and everyone that knew him loved him, and he will be missed by many. He especially loved all of his kids, grandkids and was the talk of his life. Kenny's true companion was his beloved dog, Bella.
Kenny is survived by his children, Denise (Tom) Delph of Buffalo, Indiana, Kenny Wayne Felker of Athens, Tennessee, Jonette (Carol) Felker of Terre Haute, Indiana, Daniel "Dan" (Mandy) Felker of Monticello, Indiana, grandchildren, Charity, Joseph, Josh, and Morgan, great grandkids, Anson, Amelia, Jaxon, Xavier, and Xander, fiancé, Barb Greenen of Monticello, Indiana, her children, John Phillips, Brandon (Bonnie) Runk, Delby, grandchildren, Jesse, Josh, Haily, and Thomas, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth E. and O. Alberta (Reynolds) Felker, sister, Luticia Mae "Sandy" Minnick, brother, Jerald Dean Felker, granddaughter, Windie, Barb's daughter, Becky Harris.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Morris officiating.
Burial with full military rites conducted by Monticello Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the I.O.O. F. Riverview Cemetery of rural Monticello, Indiana.
Memorial donations may be given to VFW Post #2231 or the Wounded Warrior Project. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Felker Family.
