Kenneth Michael "Mike". Haygood, 64, of Yeoman, Indiana, died at 1:57 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born on November 24, 1959, in Monticello, Indiana to Huldah L. (Roth) and Kenneth G. Haygood, they both preceded him in death.
Mike was born and raised in Idaville, Indiana, he was a 1979 graduate of the Twin Lakes High School of Monticello, Indiana. He was a retired sheet metal work, retiring in 2020 after 40 years of service in the SMW Local 20. Mike had worked from New York to Seattle and Canada to Mexico. He was an expert in lay out fabrication and welding. During his time in Seattle Mike was known for welding the capsules that shipped into space. He and his late father was also remembered for hand making each and every one of the shingles for Bell Tower Memorial. Mike spent twelve years living in Idaho, Wyoming, and Seattle, living in the wild "Mountain Man Mike", fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed making airplanes out of pop cans, windchimes, fountain lights. Mike had a passion for working on tractors, cars, and anything that had a motor. He especially loved his family and the time he got to spend with them.
Mike is survived by his daughters, Megan (husband Joe) Livesay of Monticello, Indiana Jennifer N. (husband Shawn) Craig of Yeoman, Indiana, , and Amanda Stout (Kevin Laffoon) of Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren, Gracie Craig, Kenny Livesay, Bree Stout, Shyanne Craig, Payton Livesay, Jaxton Craig, Kahlan Stout, and Shaylee Stout; best friend and companion, JoMarie Peterson of Moroco, Indiana; sister, Crystal (husband John) Bedilion of Burnettsville, Indiana; brother, Doug (wife Gabriella) Haygood; niece, Michelle (husband Robert "Bob") Hall of Idaville, Indiana; nephews, Bruce (wife Teresa) Stevenson of Monticello, Indiana, Hunter Haygood, and Jonathan (wife Katie) Haygood; mother of his children, Joyce Haygood (Stew Krintz) of Wolcott, Indiana.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Huldah L. and Kenneth G. Haygood; fiancée Judy Haygood.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana, with Pastor Keith Raderstorf officiating.
Burial will follow in the Idaville Cemetery of Idaville, Indiana.
Memorial donations may be given to the Monticello Youth Football League. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Haygood Family.
