Laurie J. Kuhn, 66, of Delphi, Indiana, passed away at 4:23 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.

Laurie was born on Sunday, May 18, 1958, in Carroll, Iowa, to Merlin C. Huisenga and Alice Ann (Irwin) Huisenga.

On Saturday, August 15, 1981, at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church in Breda, Iowa she married the love of her life, Michael Kuhn. They would have been married 44 years and together for 48.

Laurie was a 1976 graduate of Ar-We-Va Highschool of Westside, Iowa. She also attended Buena Vista College of Storm Lake, Iowa where she met the love of her life Mike.  She and Mike moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. They then moved to Schaller, Iowa where they started their own trucking company.  In 1993 they moved to Delphi, Indiana, where she started work at Central Presbyterian Church of Lafayette, Indiana retiring in 2018.  Laurie and Mike took several vacations and traveled many, many miles on their motorcycle.  She was also known for cooking, data acquisitioning, and dialing the ET (Elapsed Time) of the racecar while standing by Mike's side as they drag raced throughout the Midwest for most of their marriage. She loved gardening and watching hummingbirds.  Laurie was known for being a huge supporter of her children and grandchildren and never missed a single thing.  If there was one thing you could take away from Laurie's life, it would be her love and devotion for her family.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Michael J. Kuhn of Delphi, Indiana, daughter, Tammy J. (Drew Klok) Lesher of West Lafayette, Indiana, son, Justin (Amber) Kuhn of Lafayette, Indiana, granddaughters, Alexia Lesher, Braylin Klok, and Kori Klok of West Lafayette, Indiana, grandson, Ezekiel Kuhn of Lafayette, Indiana, sisters, Vickie (Joel Cook) Huisenga, Julie (Tom) Dozier, and Marie (Frank Krasovec) Kearney, brothers, Dannie (Donna) Huisenga, Dennie (Lori) Huisenga, and Garrie Huisenga, sister-in-law, Pamela (Roger) Kuhn - Schossow, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Laurie is preceded in death by her parents, Merlin and Alice Ann (Irwin) Huisenga, and sister, Peggie Huisenga - Halbur.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Rev. Dr. Bill Smutz of Indianapolis, Indiana.

A private family burial will follow at a later date.
