Leatrice Joy Tessier, age 98, of Monticello died on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at White Oaks Health Care Center.

She was born on Thursday, April 7, 1927, in Huntington Park, California to Willie and Evie Etta (Webb) Teter.

Leatrice moved to the Monticello area in 1967.  She worked at Schultz, G.L Perry, and Dollar General when she was able.  Leatrice had got into diamond art, word searches, and dot to dots.

Leatrice is survived by her children, James "Jim" (wife Jean) Newton, Rick Newton, Robin Meyers, Peggy (husband Roger) Smith, Kelly Alpha, Jackie Reed; eighteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren.

Leatrice is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Evie Etta (Webb) Teter, son, Paul Miller and daughter, Diane Bullock.

Per her wishes there will be no public visitation or services, private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to wishes of the donor, envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mail to the charity of choice.
