Linda Lou
Elmore
November 6, 1942 – May 23, 2026
Linda Lou Elmore, age 83, of Monticello, Indiana formerly of Lafayette, Indiana, Lafayette, joined our Lord in Heaven at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Linda was born on Friday, November 6, 1942, at her family home in Shields, Kentucky, to the late Arthur and Elsie (Browning) Green.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Elmore; her sister, Virginia Faye Carnahan; and her brother, Thomas Green.
Linda leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Douglas (Leah) Elmore and Penny (Mark) Patterson; her brother, James Green; her granddaughter, Jessica (Brandon Clugh) Smith; bonus grandchildren, Emily Fletcher and Matthew Fletcher; and her great-grandchildren, Kylie Smith, Conner Clugh, and Kaylin Clugh. She also leaves behind many close cousins and dear friends.
A woman of deep faith, Linda devoted much of her time to her church and grandchildren. She loved cooking and preparing family dinners, making sure nobody ever left her house hungry. Being a Grandma was her favorite role in life. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to shower them with love, attention, and a few extra treats. If anyone suggested they were spoiled, she would quickly say “They’re not spoiled – they just smell a little bad”.
She also found joy in playing cards, coloring, going through old family photos to make scrap books, and just visiting with family and friends.
Linda’s gentle spirit, playful humor, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
There will be no formal funeral services. A small family memorial will be held at a later date.
Deibels Funeral Home is honored and blessed to be assisting the family photos, memories, and messages of condolences can be made at www.deiblesfh.com
