Lucille "Lucy" Powell - Morehead, 74, of Wolcott, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior, at 1:01 a.m., on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Lucy was born on Wednesday, June 7, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois to Richard Wierenga and Dolores (Wheeler) Bish. They both preceded her in death.
Lucy was born and raised by Dolores and Wallace Bish. She was a 1968 graduate of the Proviso East High School of Chicago, Illinois. Lucy began to raise her family and went on to being a server at multiple restaurants in Indiana and Colorado before retiring back to Wolcott, Indiana. She loved cooking and baking especially for gathering her family up for Sunday dinners, birthdays, holidays, and other various occasions. Lucy adored her grand and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Her adoration to helping children showed in her monthly donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Lucy is survived by her children "her hearts", Michael (wife Shane) Powell of Wolcott, Indiana, Lisa (husband Dan) Miller or Galveston, Indiana, Patrick (wife Ann) Powell of Wolcott, Indiana, and Timothy Powell of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Alicia (husband Justin) Perrey, Lance Beck, Spencer Powell, Anthony Powell, Ana Arana, Cameron Landis, Jordyn Landis, Brent (wife Andrea) Cobb, Bryce Cobb, Aaron Powell, Breann Cobb, and Bradley Cobb; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Ben, Mara, Alex, and Remy; sisters, Helen Bish and Pam DeFranco; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Dolores (Wheeler) Bish and Richard Wierenga; brothers, Richard Bish, Wallace Bish, and Robert Bish Jr., and two unborn children.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
A Celebration of life service will immediately be following at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Pastor Paul Dyke of the First Christian Church of Remington and Pastor Sean Cooper of the First Baptist Church of Galveston, Indiana.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
