Marjorie Jean Dishon, 83, of Lafayette, (formerly of Monticello), Indiana, died at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in The Springs at Lafayette Health Care.

Marjorie was born on Tuesday, October 29, 1940, in Modoc, Indiana to Frank and Mary Sayer. They preceded her in death.

Marjorie was a graduate of the Pendleton High School.  She then went to work at Giant Store in Anderson, Indiana at the lunch counter.  Marjorie then went to work for Brockway Glass of Lapel, Indiana. She was known for her crafts, playing bingo, her neighborhood card buddies, and reading her Bible.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Randy Mitchell of Anderson, Indiana, Roy (wife Tammy) Mitchell of Delphi, Indiana, Theresa Young of Monticello, Indiana, James (Tracey) Mitchell of Brookston, Indiana, sixteen grandchildren, thirty plus great-grandchildren, sister, Annabelle Franklin of Winchester, Indiana.

Marjorie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kari Dicks, and several siblings.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
