Obituary

Mary E. "Mare" Ziemer, 85 of West Lafayette, Indiana, died at 1:24 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the Franciscan Health East Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana.

Mary was born on Thursday, October 13, 1938, in Peru, Indiana, Frederick and Clara (Aspinwall) Wouster. They preceded her in death.

On Saturday, October 21, 1972, at the home of Rev. Ross in Monticello, Indiana she married Everett E. Ziemer.  He died on Saturday, August 6, 2011.

Mary was born and raised in Peru, Indiana and attended St. Charles Catholic School.  She had worked in several factories in the White County area for several years. Mary then went to work for Indiana Beach until retirement. She was an active member of Monon Eagles, the AmVets Post 91 of Monticello, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 492 of West Lafayette, Indiana.  Mary enjoyed doing word searches, game shows, true crime tv, and when she was able antiquing. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Tresa (husband John) Pickett - Baldwin of West Lafayette, Indiana and Susan Johnson of West Lafayette, Indiana; grandkids,  Erica (husband Shaun) Coomey of West Lafayette, Indiana, Scott Baldwin of Muncie, Indiana, Jessica (husband Steve "Chopper") Van Voorst of Reynolds, Indiana,  Jeremiah (wife Kayla) Drye of Lakeland, Florida, Adrianne Sartwell of Florida; great grandkids, Troy (fiancée Stephenie) Wheeldon of Lafayette, Indiana, Makayla (husband Montana) Coomey - Payne of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Evan ( Shae) Coomey  of West Lafayette, Indiana, Seth (wife Chloe) Scott of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kenzie and Cami Scott of Reynolds, Indiana, and Cody, Austin, and Morgan Drye of Lakeland, Florida; great-great grandchildren, Jase Coomey, Jaxson Coomey, and Sawyer Wheeldon of all West Lafayette, Indiana; brother, Frederick (wife Ethel)  Wouster of Mexico, Indiana and Jeff (wife Christy) Wouster of Peru, Indiana: several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett E. Ziemer; daughter, Cindy Wilson; grandsons, David Kiser and Gregory Sartwell; sister, Jennifer Cunningham; brothers, Howard Wouster, George Wouster, Michael Wouster, Stephen Wouster, John Wouster, and Jacob Wouster.

A gathering of family and friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Chaplain Dave McKinney of American Legion Post 492 of West Lafayette, Indiana.

A burial will be at the later date in the Bedford Cemetery of rural Monon, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Ziemer family.
