Michael James "Mike" Ford, 79, of Monticello, Indiana, died peacefully at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his residence with his loving wife by his side.

Mike was born on Friday, October 12, 1945, in Logansport, Indiana to Marijane Baum and Fred Ford. They both preceded him in death.

On Friday, March 15, 1968, at Rev. Ross's house in Monticello, Indiana he married the love of his life celebrating 57 years of marriage Carolyn "Suzie" Burns. She survives.

Mike was born and raised with his grandmother in Monticello, Indiana.  He went straight into the US Army serving Vietnam for two years, before returning to the states. Mike had owned and operated Ford Heating and Cooling for 30 plus years.  He retired from Remington Seeds in Remington, Indiana.  Mike and his wife Suzie retired to fish and always fished together.   He enjoyed hunting and trapping and spending time in the outdoors. Mike loved watching football, basketball, especially the Indy Fever. He could be found outside keeping up with his yard work and gardening. Mike loved his family and always wanted to know what everyone was up to especially his kids and grandkids.

Michael is survived by his wife, Suzie Ford of Monticello, Indiana, daughter, Mistine (Robert "Bob") Weisenburger of Logansport, Indiana, son Darryl (Kim) Ford of Cook, Minnesota, grandchildren, Macee Weisenburger, Mandee Weisenburger, Ceara (fiancé Kody Wahlig) Ford, Oliva Ford, Vanessa Ford, Amelia Ford, great-grandchildren, Kori Ford, Opie Ford, Leni Ford, Grayson Wahlig and Damien Wahlig, sister-in-law, Debra (Dan) Hahn, brother-in-law, Terry Burns several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Rick and Fred Ford.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 (noon) until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Timothy A. McQuinn officiating.

Burial with full military rites conducted by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Hughes Cemetery of rural Monticello, Indiana.
