Morgan Lee Kersey, 26, of Monticello, Indiana died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5, 2025, doing what he loved hunting white tail deer and providing for his family.
Morgan was born on Wednesday, October 14, 1998, in Lafayette, Indiana to Heather (Crosser) and Kris Kersey. They survive.
On November 17, 2020, in Monticello, Indiana, at Down the Street Bar and Grill he married Kristin Emery. She survives.
Morgan was an avid outdoorsman, he absolutely loved fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. He could be found hanging out with his children and was extremely proud to be a Cheer Dad. Morgan was a fan of his trucks, and motorcycle, and he never knew how to go slow. Morgan never knew a stranger and was a friend to all.
Morgan is survived by his wife, Kristin Kersey of Monticello, Indiana, children, Brady, Reghan, Brantleigh; parents, Kris (wife Jennifer) Kersey of Monticello, Indiana and Heather (husband Jason) of Beechmont, Kentucky, brothers, Kristopher Kersey, II., Adam, Zander, Joey; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (wife Hope) Chaney and Candace (Companion Austin) Chaney; niece Nadalia; maternal grandmother, Anna M. "Annie" (companion Bruce) Crosser, mother & father in-law, Debbie (husband Wayne) Chaney and Chris (companion Jess) Emery; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Morgan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Karen (Morgan) Kersey; maternal grandfather, Terry Crosser.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
A celebration of Morgan's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Pastor Mark Newman.
Burial will follow in the Winamac Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
