Paula Joan (Arbuckle) Newgent, 67, of Monticello, Indiana, died at 12:01 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at her residence with her husband by her side.
Paula was born on Friday, November 21, 1958, in Monticello, Indiana, to Paul Alva and Ethel Bernice (Eldridge) Arbuckle. They both preceded her in death.
On October 8, 1973, in Florida, she married Joseph R. "Joe" Newgent. He survives.
Paula was born and raised in the Monticello area. She attended Twin Lakes High School and graduated in 1976. Paula was an active member of the Redmens Tribe #518, Eagles (F.O.E) Aries #2570, VFW Auxiliary #2231, and AmVets Auxilary Post #91 all of Monticello, Indiana. She also was a proud sponsor and member of the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization and had been attending the reunions for over 35 years.
Paula is survived by her loving husband, Joe Newgent of Monticello, Indiana; daughter, Diana (husband Mike) Rayburn of Reynolds, Indiana; granddaughter, Shelby (husband Jacob) Priest of Reynolds, Indiana; special nieces, Brukentta (husband Scott) Lytle of Reynolds, Indiana; several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Paula is preceded in death by her father, Paul Alva Arbuckle, Mother and Ethel Bernice (Eldridge) Arbuckle - Malone; son, Troy J. Newgent; Infant Sister, Michelle Lynn Arbuckle; brothers, Larry Joseph Arbuckle and Paul William Arbuckle; stepfather, Lyman Woodrow "Pat" Malone.
No public visitation or services will be held at this time a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery of rural Monticello, Indiana.
