Obituary

Phillip S. "Phil" Deibel, 69, of Kissimmee, Florida, died peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 20:50 p.m. in the Osceola Hospital, Kissimmee, Florida after a short battle with cancer.

Phil was born on Saturday, November 26, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Eileen Imo (Amos) Deibel and Richard "Dick" Goyne Deibel. They both preceded him in death.

Phil was born and raised between Mooresville, Indianapolis (Oaklandon area) and Monticello, Indiana.  He was a 1974 graduate of the Twin Lakes High School and attended the University of Central Florida.  He went on to work in computer programming, IT, and hardware components most of his life - working for IBM, NASA, and finally retiring from The Walt Disney Company as a Global IT Director. Phil owned and operated PSD Software, enjoyed arranging and conducting firework shows, traveling, and living life. If you knew Phil, he often mentioned, "I came, I saw, I did what was needed and then moved on," and always being there for others.

Phil is survived by his sister, Barbara J. Deibel of Madison, Indiana, brothers, R. Jefferson "Jeff" (wife Linda) Deibel of Bamberg, South Carolina, William M. "Bill" (wife Chantal) Deibel of Monticello, Indiana, and Bruce E. "Buck" (wife Tina) Deibel of Anderson, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Eileen I. Deibel and Dick G. Deibel; sister, Mary K. Deibel.

Visitation will be held from 2:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Deibels Funeral Home, 601 Gordon Road, Monticello, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life service will be held following visitation at 4:00p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Deibels Funeral Home, 601 Gordon Road, Monticello, Indiana with Celebrant Cathy Gross officiating.

A family graveside service will be held at the Washington Park East Cemetery at a later date.  A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date in Kissimmee, Florida for a Celebration of life complete with fireworks.

Memorials may be given to the Florida Pyrotechnics Arts Guild.

Phil's parting statement to all of us was " I'm an enigma, shrouded in mystery and cloaked in the shadows." Our parting statement to him was he will be missed.
