Richard Russell "Dick" Watts, 83, of Buffalo, Indiana, died peacefully at 2:58 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Dick was born on Friday, April 25, 1941, in Amboy, Indiana to Dale and Genevieve (Rhineholt) Watts. They both preceded him in death.
On Saturday, March 22, 1975, in Monticello, Indiana, he married the love of his life Shirley A. Adkins. She survives.
Dick was avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors and loved any kind of racing. Dick enjoyed woodworking ecspecially making canes. He truly loved having company and spending time with friends. He was a good man and will be missed by all that knew him.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Watts of Buffalo, Indiana, children, Lisa Holcomb of Pulaski, Indiana, Tina Woodruff of Logansport, Indiana, and Richard "Dewey" Watts of Buffalo, Indiana, Tracy Watts-Rossman of Buffalo, Indiana, stepson, Ricky Adkins of Buffalo, Indiana, 48 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Genevieve Watts, daughter, Heather A. "Harry" Massey, grandson, Nathniel Inman, siblings, Judy Marcinkowski, Bill Watts
A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
A Celebration of Dick's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Pastor "Butch" Wildermuth of the Buffalo Church of the Brethren officiating.
Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery of Buffalo, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, IN 47960 C/O Watts Family.
