Robert L. "Bob" Cearing, 83, of Reynolds, Indiana, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 3:45 a.m., in the IU Health White Memorial Hospital with all of his family by his side.

Bob was born on Sunday, September 8, 1940, at his residence in Reynolds, Indiana to Clemont Oscar Cearing and Mildred (Snetcher) Cearing.  They both preceded him in death.

On Saturday, March 27, 1965, in Wolcott, Indiana, he married Patricia Sigman; she survives.

Robert was a 1960 graduate of the Reynolds High School and enlisted in the United States Navy right out of high school, from 1960 to 1964; He was a Radioman aboard USS Newman K. Perry DD/DDR 883.  Robert started with Skelgas in 1972 in Reynolds, IN and later retired from Skelgas in 1993.  He worked for INDOT Monticello Sub District from 1995 to 2003.  He was on the Reynolds Volunteer Fire Department from 1965 to 1975.  He was a founding member (Life Member) of the Reynolds VFW Post 1106 and a Life Member of the AmVets Post 91.

Bob is Survived by his wife, Patricia (Pat) Cearing of Reynolds, Indiana; (5) five children, Karen (George) Pfledderer of Reynolds, Indiana, Linda (David) Tillema of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Jeff Cearing, Reynolds, Indiana, Tina (Wayne) Steele, Monticello, Indiana, Sandy Cearing (Partner Paula Leonard), Crawfordsville, Indiana.  "Casino Buddy" Dale Quasebarth. Grandchildren; Jessica Kelley, Kyle Pfledderer, Christopher Wenrick, Adam Wenrick, Cori Wenrick, Logan Tillema, John Cearing, Haley Speece, Hannah Hardebeck, Christopher Quasebarth, John Quasebarth, Christine Quasebarth.  (20) twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clemont O. & Mildred (Snetcher) Cearing; his siblings, Betty, Paul, Wayne, Floyd, Clyde, Phyllis, and Helen; granddaughter, Infant Quasebarth; and great-grandson, Infant Mason Roller-Pfledderer.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the AmVets Post #91 of Monticello, Indiana (219 Northwestern Ave, Monticello, IN 47960).

Full Military Honors, by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the AmVets Post #91 of Monticello, Indiana.

Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
