Ronald D. "Ron" Coonrod, 90, of Idaville, Indiana, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his residence peacefully with his loving family by his side.

Ron was born on Sunday, July 14, 1935, in Rensselaer, Indiana to Defoe and Mable (Cover) Coonrod. He was raised on the family farm in Buffalo, Indiana. They preceded him in death.

On February 6, 1986, Ron married his loving wife, Patricia Ann Cummins. Together they continued to build the family farm and raise a family. They were blessed with five children.

Ron was a 1953 graduate of Buffalo High School, where he lettered in basketball. He continued his love of the game by playing intramural leagues well into his 60's.  He started farming at an early age, but his greatest passion was construction. He started his construction company soon after graduation. He could spend hours on a dozer or excavator. Through the years he had various business ventures.  He was able to pass down his love of farming and his great thirst for knowledge. He was an avid reader and journaled his daily activities. He will be remembered for freely voicing his opinions, a good debate, and being firmly grounded in his faith. Ron was baptized on November 19th, 1950. He was a member of the Buffalo Christian Church.

He truly lived out the saying Faith, Family, Farming.

Ron is survived by his wife Patty Coonrod of Idaville, Indiana; his son's Travis of Idaville, Ronald II "Coonie" (Mary) of Idaville, Josiah "Joe" of Monticello, Adam (Caroline) of Idaville, and daughter Elizabeth "Libby" (Matt) Schloss of Evansville; grandchildren Taylor (Jude) Rutledge, Zachary "Zac" Coonrod, Everett Walters, Michelle Wank, Kelly Coonrod, Grant Coonrod, Josephine "Josie" Schloss, William "Will" Schloss, Della Schloss, and Clara Schloss; great grandchild Kane Rutledge; sisters, Marie Crutchfield of Monticello, and Susie Sughrue of Indianapolis; brothers, Melvin (Carolyn) Coonrod of Buffalo area and George (Jackie) Coonrod of Monticello; sister-in-law, Diane Coonrod of Cape Coral, Florida; numerous, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends,

Ron is proceeded in death by his parents, Defoe and Mable Coonrod; grandson Travis "TJ" A. Coonrod; brother Jerry Coonrod and brothers-in-law Bill Crutchfield and Tom Sughrue.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, and 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Buffalo Christian Church of Buffalo, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Buffalo Christian Church with Rev. Harold Rutledge officiating.  Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Indiana.
