Obituary

Russell Monroe "Russ" Horn, 68 of Monticello, Indiana, (formerly of Phoenix, Arizona) died at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, in the IU Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana with his family by his side.

Russ was born on Monday, October 10, 1955, in Monticello, Indiana to William Robert and Lois (Britton) Horn. They both preceded him in death.

Russ was well known for his charming personality; he always had a smile! Those who were lucky enough to know him probably have a funny story to share. He was adventurous in his younger years, known for streaking through Indiana Beach back in the day! He had been sky diving, zip lining, flying down the streets on his motorcycle, never afraid of trying something different!
He worked hard for well over 20 years at Ball Corporation where he retired from a few years ago as a millwright machinist and he knew his stuff! He lived in Phoenix, AZ for around 20 plus years when Ball moved him there for a new plant. He loved camping, fishing, and enjoying a good race! He was an avid dog lover!    He's always had a fur buddy by his side!

Still here and survived by his, son, Ryan (wife Jennifer) Horn - grandchildren, Andrew Helton & Kayli Helton of Logansport, Indiana,
daughter, Melissa (Missy) (husband Justin) Funk Bender - grandchildren, Kaiden Baker, Lilly Baker, Memphis Funk as well as 5 step grandkids of Brookston, Indiana, sister Edna (husband John) Hay of Burnettsville, Indiana, Sister-in-law Kathy Horn of Monticello, Indiana, Nephews & Nieces Wayne Horn, Cassie Loy, Joyce Horn, Jessica Small, Michelle Foster Castro, Stephanie Foster Cottrell

Preceded in death by his parents, Lois and William Robert Horn, wife Judy Horn, and brother, Greg Horn.

No Visitation or services are scheduled at this time per Russell's wishes.
