Sara Jeane Clark, 79, of Monticello, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savoir at 4:55 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after an extended fight with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

Sara was born on Wednesday, March 19, 1947, in Marion, Indiana, to Richard Eugene "Dick" Teegarden, Sr. and Carol Maxine (Schick) Teegarden - Moore. They both preceded her in death.

On Saturday, December 11, 1993, in the Methodist Church in Monticello, Indiana, she married Eugene C. "Gene" Clark. He survives.

Sara was a 1965 graduate of the Marion High School in Marion, Indiana.  During high school she was an Honored Queen of the Jobs Daughters and the Marion High School Pep Club both in Marion, Indiana. She then went on to Beauty School at Indiana State Beauty School also of Marion, Indiana. Sara moved to Monticello in 1967 where she started working as a beautician with several local shops and spent most of her work time at Permanent Solutions in Monticello retiring in 2020.  Sara was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority for over 50 years, serving as President several times as well as every other Officer's position.  Her unique fund-raising ability boosted every project.  Sara loved to knit and was known for knitting several baby blankets and wash clothes.  

Sara is survived by her husband, Gene Clark of Monticello, Indiana; children, Kathryn (Cory Wert) Clark of Monticello, Indiana, Shelley Clark, Tammy Clark, Patrick (Heather) Clark, Genia (David) Owens, and Gene (Rebecca) Clark, Jr.; brothers, Richard "Rich" Teegarden, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida and Joseph (Michelle) Teegarden of Essex Junction, Vermont; nieces, Heather (Pat) Clark, Ericka (Kat) Teegarden, Caitlin Teegarden; nephews, Aaron (Nicole) Teegarden and Lucas (Sarah) Teegarden; grandchildren, Travis (Megan) Clark, Andy Clark, Camilla Collier, Tori (Shane) Pangle, Collin Downs, Teag (Breanna) Robbins, Reis Clark, Cole Downs, and Kennedy Clark;  several great-grandchildren; great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Sara is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Tarin Robbins.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, concluding with a Delta Theta Tau Service at Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana, with Elder Jay Janke officiating.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery of rural Monticello, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to American Senior Living and Healthcare (Resident Fund).  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 1120 N. Main St. ,Monticello, Indiana 47960 in memory of Sara Clark.
