Susan Marie Plank, 70, of Brookston, Indiana, died peacefully at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in the Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana surrounded by her family.

Susan was born on Saturday, October 8, 1955, in Rensselaer, Indiana to J. Frederick "Fred" and Elizabeth Ann (Pettet) Waymire.

On Saturday, January 2, 1982, in Rensselaer, Indiana she married the love of her life John Plank. He survives.

Susan was a 1974 graduate of Rensselaer Central High School. Susan retired from Eli Lilly after 30+ years of service. Susan also worked at Evonik both of Lafayette, Indiana.  She was a member of the Wolcott Methodist Church in Wolcott, Indiana. Susan was also a member of Grange on the local and state level.  Susan volunteered at the White County Food Pantry. She also belonged to the Psi Iota Xi philanthropic sorority. Susan was St. Joseph's College Fellow and a member of the Rural Youth Organization.  She was known for her gardening and flowers.  Susan loved to spend time with her grandchildren and supporting all their events.  She loved to travel with the love of her life John.

Susan is survived by her husband, John M. Plank of Brookston, Indiana; daughters, Stacy (husband Nate) Shultz of Indianapolis, Indiana and Kelly (husband Nathan) Knochel of Fowler, Indiana; son, Jacob Plank of Chicago, Illinois; six (6) grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Patrick, Connor, Leona; mother, Elizabeth Ann Waymire of Rensselaer, Indiana; sisters, Mary Snyder of Rensselaer, Indiana, Barbara (husband Richard) Werner of Jeffersonville, Ohio, Beverly (husband Darrald) Crynes of Rensselaer, Indiana, and Rita (husband Robert) Jennings of Mesa, Arizona; brother, John (wife Kristy) Waymire of Lebanon, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Susan is preceded in death by her, father, J. Frederick Waymire; brother, David O. Waymire; brother-in-law, Ralph Synder.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Wolcott Methodist Church of Wolcott, Indiana 300 S. Range St., Wolcott, IN 47995.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Wolcott Methodist Church of Wolcott, 300 S. Range St., Wolcott, IN 47995 with Pastor Mark Harmon officiating.

Burial will follow in the Wolcott Cemetery of rural Wolcott, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be given to White County Food Pantry.  Envelopes will be available at the church or can be mailed to the White County Food Pantry P O Box 323, Monticello, IN 47960.
