Thomas "Tom" Dean Spence, 66 of Monticello, Indiana, was born into eternal life on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 4:06 p.m. in the Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital, where he made the ultimate sacrifice of providing life for others as an organ donor.

Tom was born into this world Wednesday, September 18, 1957, in the old White County Memorial Hospital of Monticello, Indiana, to Marilyn (Thomas) Webb and Charlie Webb.

On Saturday, March 4, 1989, in the Monticello Christian Church of Monticello, Indiana he married Joni Vories. She survives.

Tom was born and raised in Idaville, Indiana.  He was a 1975 graduate of Twin Lakes High School of Monticello.  Tom had worked for McGill's (Emerson/Regal/Rexnord) for over 40 years, retiring as Plant Manager. He was a great boss but an even better man. He loved time with his family, animals, and friends. Tom was known for traveling with family, friends, and gambling with his wife.  He was an amazing storyteller and one of the funniest men you would ever know. Tom never considered himself a people person but was always found helping others and would drop what he was doing to be there when needed.

Tom is survived by his wife, Joni Spence of Monticello, Indiana; daughters, Jenny (Cameron Tyson) Raeke of Lafayette, Indiana, Kerri (husband Drew) Arnold of Fishers, Indiana, Kristin (husband Omar) Sosa of Lafayette, Indiana; son, Kyle (wife Angie) Spence of Monticello, Indiana; grandchildren, Cole Baldocchi, Jaxon Spence, Kian Spence, Brayden Raeke, Brody Raeke, Isabelle Sosa, Ava Sosa, Elliette Arnold, and Emmersyn Arnold; sister, Traci (Greg) Wertz of Mooresville, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Marilyn and Charlie Webb, sister, Sherrie and Mike Collard.

A celebration of Tom's life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Jerry Long officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Happy Tails Animal Shelter, Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd. Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Spence Family Memorial.
