Virginia DeLane Hawkins, 98, of Delphi, Indiana, died peacefully at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in the White Oak Health Campus, Legacy Building.

Virginia was born on Tuesday, March 16, 1926, in Edgar County, Illinois, to Mike and Betty (Wasson) Jamison. They both preceded her in death.

In 1948 she married Roy Hawkins in Danville, Ilinois.  He died in 1996.

Virginia was born and raised in Scottland, Illinois and was Valedictorian of the Scottland High School. She made her career in banking; she worked in banks in every city she lived in. Virginia enjoyed the Olympics and all kinds of sports. Her hobbies were a love for bowling and playing cards.  Virginia especially loved being with her children and grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Ann (husband Gerald) Hanna of Delphi, Indiana; grandchildren, Shane (wife Amy) Hanna of Delphi, Indiana and Jendy (husband Patrick) Coy of Delphi, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Luke Hanna, and Casen Coy; niece, Pamela (husband Larry) Martin of Danville, Illinois.

Virginia was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Betty (Wasson) Jamison; husband, Roy Hawkins; son, Michael "Mike" Hawkins; sister, Dorothy Ann Vanscoyk; niece Joyce Long.

No public Visitation or services are scheduled at this time.

Private family burial will be held at a later date.
