William Dale Headdy, 88, of Monticello, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, after a long struggle. He was blessed to haved died at home in the family house he and his sons built together.

Dale was born on Monday, September 20, 1937, in Chalmers, Indiana, to Roy Chetwyn and Faye (Nance) Headdy. They both preceded him in death. He was born to be a builder always working with wood.

On November 6, 1966, he married Jody (Mitchell) Headdy, she survives.

Dale was in the United States Air Force. He worked for Hornback - Sickler, Church Builders Construction Company, and then went on his own with Headdy Construction. He had a love of cars and was very active in Indianapolis Studebaker Car Club and Monticello Tuesday Night Cruisers.

Dale is survived by his wife, Jody Headdy of Monticello, Indiana; sons, Scott Headdy of Monticello, Indiana and Aaron (wife April) Headdy of Lafayette, Indiana; three grandchildren, Tyler (Ashlyn) Headdy of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tristan (Kelsey) Headdy of Lafayette, Indiana and Mylan Headdy of West Lafayette, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Callum and Annaleigh - with two more on the way, a baby girl due in October and a Headdy boy due in December; sister-in-law, Millie Headdy of Sarasota, Florida.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Faye Headdy; sister, Melberta Clerget; brothers, Maj. Charles Dean Headdy, Robert Donald "Don" Headdy, and Howard Paul Headdy.

Per Dale's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Burial will be at IOOF Riverview Cemetery, Monticello, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be the First Presbyterian Church, 104 N. Illinois Street, Monticello, Indiana.
