William "Bill" Lloyd Helsel of Monticello, Indiana (formerly of Cedar Lake, Indiana), 54, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 22, 2024, at his residence in Monticello, Indiana.
Bill was born on September 10, 1969, in Canton, Ohio, to Barbara A. (Feisley) and Paul H. Helsel.
Bill was raised in Frankfort, Illinois and was a graduate of Lincoln Way Central. He joined the Marine Corp. and served for 8 years between active duty and reserves. Bill worked as a bricklayer for twenty plus years. He then pursued his dream of working on the railroad with Norfolk Southern for ten years. He was a former member of the Marine Corp League of Zapata, Texas. Bill was an avid model train builder of N and O scale. He was a grill master and loved to grill out, he specialized in his brisket. Bill loved animals and the Chicago Bears. He was an avid sports fan and was an abundance of knowledge.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Molly Helsel and Allison Helsel of Cedar Lake, Indiana, mother, Barbara A. "Barb" Helsel of Monticello, Indiana; brother, William "Will" Feisley of Coal City, Illinois; niece, Lilly Feisley; nephews, Zachary Feisley and Andrew Feisley; uncle, Charles Feisley of Akron, Ohio.
Bill is preceded in death by his father Paul Helsel; brother Gary Helsel.
Private family services and burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Barbara A Helsel. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd. Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Helsel Family.
