Obituary

Wilma "Jane" Green, 87, of Monticello, Indiana, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at her residence with her loving family by her side.  She was born on Tuesday, February 16, 1937, in Jasper County, Indiana to Lewis and Maude (Haskins) Botts.

On Saturday, January 24, 1953, in Monticello, Indiana she married Billy F. "Bill" Green.  Together they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary before he passed on Thursday, January 31, 2019.  Jane attended Monon Schools and worked for the Monon Theatre throughout high school.  She was a founding employee of True Flight Arrow Company and worked with them for several years.  She then worked for Garden City Foods (eventually known as the Thriftymart, then Walman's) until retirement in 1999 when she was best known to the public from working in the deli.  Jane was true to her family and was a loyal fan to her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sports and activities.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Sandy (husband Jerry) Bridge of Monticello, Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer (husband Fred) Walters of Indianapolis, Indiana and Kimberly Bridge of Lafayette, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Payton Bridge of Lafayette, Indiana and Ella Sexton of Lafayette, Indiana; sisters Beverly Hedge of Hobart, Indiana and Barbara Upchurch of Texas and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy F. "Bill" Green, infant daughters, Helen Green and Vicky Green, two sisters and five brothers.

Memorial. donations can be given to the Alzheimer's Association.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 601 Gordon Rd., Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Green family.

The funeral service for Jane Green will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Deibels Funeral Home, Monticello, Indiana with Pastor Jim Elliott officiating.

The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.  Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Riverview Cemetery in Monticello.
