Michael D. "Mike" Gilbert, 70, of Monticello, Indiana, died on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at his residence.

Mike was born on Monday, April 19, 1954, in Washington D.C. to John T. Gilbert and Brenda J. (Music) Gilbert. They preceded him in death.

On Friday, December 30, 1983, in Fairborn, Ohio, he married Lisa D. Haines.  She survives.

Mike was born in Washington D.C., and grew up in several states, as his father was in the United States Air Force. He loved to camp and travel.  Mike especially loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.  He loved to laugh, cook outs with family, and being outside.  Mike worked and retired from Regal/Rexnord formerly McGills after 37 years of being a machinist.

Mike is survived by his wife Lisa D. Gilbert of Monticello, Indiana; children, Jason (Shelley) Gilbert of Cypress, Texas, Zachary (Kyanna) Gilbert of Monticello, Indiana, Cheyenne (Tony) Wood of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren, Cody, Bailey, Zane, Chase, Evie, Kingston, and Wrenley; siblings, John (Kathy) Gilbert of Monticello, Indiana, Tami (Mike) Duncan of Dayton, Ohio, Vana (Tim) D'Aurora of Fairborn, Ohio, and Tim (Carol) Gilbert of Dayton, Ohio; father-in-law, John Haines of Monticello, Indiana; mother-in-law, Carol (Irvin) Pollock of Wilmington, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Laura (Daniel) Binegar of Martinsville, Ohio, Tammy (Eric Riechle) Smith of Westerville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Matt (Sally) Haines of Clarksville, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John T. Gilbert and Brenda J. (Music) Gilbert.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date, per Mike's wishes.
